About Me
From the lab bench
to the blockchain.
I graduated from UC Berkeley with honors in Molecular Cell Biology. From there I spent three years in translational cancer research at UCSF, then moved through biotech R&D roles at Tizona Therapeutics and Nektar Therapeutics before landing at Kite Pharma (Gilead Sciences). At Kite, I drove data analysis across four to five concurrent CAR T-cell therapy programs: processing samples, running flow cytometry, building the analyses, and creating the presentations that went to directors, VPs, and audiences of 150+ scientists. My work directly informed go/no-go decisions, resource allocation, and study sequencing for therapies targeting multiple forms of cancer.
In parallel, I had been going deep into Bitcoin and digital security on my own time since 2016. What started as curiosity turned into work on custody architecture, operational workflows, self-custody, reducing single points of failure, and inheritance planning for digital assets.
Today I'm based in Hong Kong and work at Bullish as a Specialist, Digital Asset Security. The systematic thinking from science never left. I point it at controls, documentation, review habits, and security workflows that need to hold up when accuracy matters.
AI has become part of that operating system too. I use it to build, review, and document faster, but the standard is still human judgment, source material, and work that can be checked.

CAR-T Program Data Pipeline

Through Fortress21 Ltd., I design digital asset custody architecture for people who need stronger operational controls. Single-sig plus passphrase setups for most cases, Bitcoin multisig where it fits, inheritance protocols, and transaction workflows. $10M+ in digital asset security scope supported with zero security incidents.

Mandarin Deck: Free HSK 3.0 Learning App
A browser-based Mandarin learning app I built from scratch. Follows the official HSK 3.0 curriculum (12,281 words), with spaced repetition, native-speaker audio, reading passages, and cloud sync across devices. Live at mandarindeck.com, free to use.

RetireCalc: US Withdrawal Strategy Tool
A US retirement planner that models healthcare costs, Social Security taxation, Roth conversion windows, early-retirement spending, and the other tax variables off-the-shelf tools skip. Browser-only, no backend, no data captured.

At Gilead, that meant analysis across four to five concurrent CAR T-cell therapy programs and presentations that informed go/no-go decisions. Today the same habit shows up in custody operations, documentation, verification checklists, and tools that make review easier.

I use Codex, GPT-5.5, Claude Code, ChatGPT, Cursor/OpenCode, Make, n8n, Supabase, Svelte, and Astro to build tools I actually use. Mandarin Deck, RetireCalc, this site, and smaller workflow systems all come from the same loop: define the job, let AI help with the build, inspect the diff, test the result, and keep judgment in the loop.
